Overview
Reporting to the General Manager Asset Lifecycle, the Manager Strategic Asset Management plays a critical leadership role in driving asset strategy, performance, and long‐term sustainability. You will lead a high‐performing, multidisciplinary team to deliver data‐driven asset management strategies, optimise lifecycle outcomes, and ensure our infrastructure continues to meet customer, regulatory, and environmental expectations. This role sits within our Asset & Operations business unit, supporting the delivery of safe, reliable, and future‐ready water services.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of strategic asset management frameworks and plans
* Drive lifecycle optimisation across planning, maintenance, renewal, and disposal of assets
* Oversee asset data systems, including Asset Management Information Systems and GIS
* Provide expert advice to Executive Leadership, Board, and key stakeholders
* Align asset investment with growth, risk, and customer outcomes
* Champion innovation, including digital and predictive asset management approaches
* Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks including AMAF and ISO55001
* Lead and develop a high‐performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
About You
You are a strategic and people‐focused leader with strong technical expertise in asset management. You bring extensive experience in asset management within a complex infrastructure or utility environment, strong knowledge of Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) and ISO standards, proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams, ability to influence, negotiate, and engage with senior stakeholders, a data‐driven mindset with a focus on long‐term planning and performance, and tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, or a related discipline.
Salary & Benefits
Salary will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 6: $142,905 – $162,360 plus superannuation. Salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
