About the Employer
Darwin Ski Club (ABN ), the home of the Northern Territory Water Ski Association (NTWSA) and a community hub for water sports in the Darwin region, is currently looking for a qualified Club Manager (ANZSCO code ).
Annual salary: $77,000 – $80,000 (excluding superannuation). Work location: 20 Conacher Street, Darwin, NT ****.
Work hours: 38 hours per week.

Position Summary
The role of the Bar/Club Manager is to provide leadership to the NTWSA and to be responsible for the effective management of all the affairs of the Association. It requires developing and recommending strategic directions the Association to the Management Committee (MC) and implementing the strategic directions determined by the MC.
Reports to
Approved Member of the Management Committee (MC) & MC of the Northern Territory Water Ski Association (NTWSA).
Mandatory Requirements
Current Nationally Accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol Qualification and/or required refresher courses in compliance with the Liquor Act;
Cleared National Criminal History Check within the last three (3) months at time of employment;
Current and valid compliant Working with Children Clearance in the Northern Territory;
Ability to be a Liquor Licence Nominee in the Northern Territory;
Hold current Full Skiing Membership to the NTWSA whilst in the position at their own cost;
Experience in a similar Hospitality Management role;
Cash Handling Experience;
Strong written and verbal communication standards in English language;
Experienced in operating and usage of IT systems generally including: Microsoft Professional suite of applications, PDF, Deputy, Teamup bookings application, etc.;
Possess or able to acquire a current and valid Senior First Aid and Resuscitation certification;
Trustworthy, take initiatives, attention to detail, able to take instructions, is respectful to all, and possesses a strong work ethic.
Desired Requirements
ABACUS POS system experience desirable;
Previous Club Management or Senior Level Supervision/Management experience of at least 7 – 10 years;
Cleared and active Class C Driver's Licence.
Qualifications & Work Experience
Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate II and one year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) work experience; or
Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III with relevant post qualification work experience of at least one year (minimum 20 hours per week).
Position Tasks & Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic directions of the Association as determined by the MC;
Ensure that all members receive constitutionally entitled benefits within the parameters of the Club Manager's responsibilities;
Ensure that members are not permitted receipt of any benefits or receive a benefit which is not available to all entitled members, and report such instances to the MC immediately;
Maintain a sound understanding of the social and economic environment the Association operates in to inform the MC with changing government policies, industry trends, and other matters impacting on Association operations and viability;
Sound financial management of the Association in conjunction with the Treasurer, including oversight and engaging with the accounting/bookkeeping contractor (budgeting, operating revenues and expenses, IT systems and controls, grant fundings awarded equitable expenditure, and any approved capital works funding);
Engage and work with as required any Lessees, Storage Licence Holders, and Affiliated Associations, as approved by the MC, ensuring compliance with the Association's constitution, policies, codes, plans, rules, manuals, agreements, by laws and other instructions;
Recruitment and training of suitably qualified staff to run the Association efficiently, noting seasonal and major public function demands, and providing sound leadership to them directly or through the Bar Supervisor(s).
