The Opportunity AFS, part of the CSR Group, is a market leader in load-bearing permanent formwork systems through its Rediwall® solutions. For close to 20 years, we've partnered with the construction industry to deliver innovative, high-performance wall and framing systems across Australia. We're now looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to take full operational ownership of our site and lead the next phase of performance, discipline, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role — suited to someone who knows manufacturing from the floor up, understands people, and can run a robust operation while actively driving a proactive safety culture and strengthening overall workplace culture. As a key leadership role, you will have several direct reports and will oversee the broader manufacturing team. This site-based role carries full ownership of safety, quality, output, compliance, and cost, while collaborating closely with Maintenance, Warehouse, WHSE & Innovation teams. Key responsibilities: Champion a Zero Harm / Never Walk Past safety culture across the site Lead and embed World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and Lean principles into day-to-day operations Own site performance across safety, quality, output, cost, service, and delivery Set clear standards, expectations, and accountability across the operation Drive continuous improvement, process optimisation, and operational discipline Lead cultural engagement and keep communication strong and consistent across shifts Manage site budgets, cost control, and capital expenditure Partner with Maintenance to implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs Oversee compliance including Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations About You You set clear expectations, communicate openly at all levels, deliver tangible continuous improvement, balance proven practices with innovation and WCM progress, and remain steady under pressure to keep the site performing. We're looking for someone with: Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong background in Lean, WCM, or continuous improvement methodologies (essential) Demonstrated success leading frontline leaders and building accountable teams Solid commercial acumen — budgets, cost control, and operational decision-making Experience delivering process improvement and capital projects Strong safety leadership and working knowledge of WHSE systems Excellent problem solving and decision making skills Skilled in stakeholder engagement across departments Mechanical or technical aptitude; maintenance exposure highly regarded SAP experience advantageous Ability to balance tradition, discipline, and modern manufacturing practices What's in it for you We strive to support your professional and personal growth.
