About the Position
Exciting opportunity for a skilled library professional to join our Hub Library team with a focus on:
* contributing to the delivery of quality library customer service
* delivering activities for people of all ages, including children's literacy
* working with adult groups and young people to maximise their enjoyment of libraries
While the appointment is to the Hub Library, placement or rostered work at other branches may be required.
This position is required to work Wednesday & Friday each week and alternate weekends
About You
Working as part of a collaborative and creative team in a dynamic joint-use public library, you will thrive on delivering exceptional customer experiences. Your energy, positivity, and passion for people will enable you to move confidently between serving customers, event delivery, and team collaboration.
You will deliver fun, creative literacy focussed sessions for children and feel comfortable reading, speaking and singing in front of both children and adults.
You will approach customers with confidence and quickly build rapport. You will bring highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
Key Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and proven ability to work for an extended length of time in face-to-face customer service.
2. Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to the role that libraries play in supporting all forms of literacy and lifelong learning with a focus on the delivery of interactive story telling sessions for young children.
3. Ability to help people that are not confident in the use of technology.
4. Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the maintenance of a supportive work environment.
5. Ability to manage time, plan and prioritise projects and tasks and organize work to meet deadlines.
