Responsibilities
Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently.
Collecting, calculating, and entering data to maintain and update payroll information.
Compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, leave and other deductions, and reporting on this as required.
Interpreting industrial instruments such as up-to-date awards and enterprise agreements.
Attending to complex payroll calculations which may include redundancy payments, workers compensation payments, etc.
Addressing payroll queries.
Resolving payroll discrepancies.
Employee queries
Adhering to Council awards and employment legislation
Developing Adhoc financial and operational reporting as required.
Requirements:
At least 2 years of proven experience in navigating payroll systems.
Strong numeracy skills.
Great attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Excellent time management, organisation and communication skills.
Good record keeping.
Due to the confidential nature of the information Payroll Officers are exposed to, a high degree of professionalism and discretion is required.
MS Office system experience and related payroll sytems
Proven record of integrity, tact and ability to maintain confidentiality of payroll & employee information
