This position requires a Senior Landscape Architect who will lead design projects with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team of Landscape Architects.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality projects, manage design consultants, and coordinate multidisciplinary professionals.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Enhancing organisation networks and providing specialist guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
2. Leading design and project management processes for landscape and streetscape projects for the unit's Capital Works program.
3. Utilising strong decision-making skills in the delivery of landscape projects.
4. Assisting in the management, tendering, and evaluation of services across relevant Council projects, discovering opportunities for growth and improvement.
This is a temporary one-year full-time position. We come together at least 3 days a week to collaborate in our vibrant office culture.
To be suitable for this role you have:
1. Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role, mentoring technical staff.
2. Excellent people skills with the ability to negotiate, influence, and facilitate positive and cooperative working relationships to support a productive working environment.
3. Proven experience in public consultation and working with local communities in a landscape architecture environment, with an aptitude for project, contract, and financial management.
4. An innovative and independent work practice with proven ability to set priorities, meet tight deadlines, and problem-solve despite conflicting pressures.
5. Strong project management skills with a good understanding of governance and procurement processes.
6. Well-developed administrative skills with proficiency in industry-related financial, design, and drafting software.
7. A strong understanding of landscape architecture policies and practices, and the unit's contribution to broader organisational objectives.
8. A tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture, or a related field, together with demonstrated experience in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or a similar environment.
