**Research Fellow Role Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our team and contribute to research focused on improving the health and well-being of people living in rural and remote areas.


About The Role

The Research Fellow will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing qualitative research that informs strategies to enhance rural health outcomes and support the development, sustainability, and wellbeing of the rural health workforce.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented researcher to make a significant contribution to our organization's mission to strengthen the supply, capability, and impact of healthcare graduates in rural Australia.


Key Responsibilities

* Designing, conducting, and analyzing qualitative research that informs strategies to enhance rural health outcomes
* Working closely with rural communities and health professionals to ensure research is culturally sensitive and responsive to local needs
* Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at conferences, and disseminating findings through other methods such as policy briefs
* Supporting grant applications, supervising HDR candidates, and collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams and community partners


Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

* A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalency
* Evidence of a record of research outputs/creative works in high-quality refereed journals/outlets consistent with the discipline
* Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment
* Demonstrated ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity


Desirable Skills

The following skills would be highly desirable for this role:

* Demonstrated expertise in qualitative research within rural health contexts
* Demonstrated ability to supervise HDR students
* A history of successful competitive grant applications
