About the Role
Reporting to the Head Engineer, the Maintenance Fitter position will
undertake routine preventative maintenance of plant and equipment, with
equipment modification and fabrication of new equipment when required.

Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake preventative maintenance on plant and equipment
* Attend break downs, plan and execute a most effective, efficient and safe return to production
* Report plant operational and safety issues to Head Engineer, contribute to planned corrective action
* Maintain workshop and equipment in a neat, tidy and safe condition
* Ensure after engineering maintenance work completed that associated plant is free of foreign objects (engineering contaminants, tools etc) before handing back to production
* Ensure all required forms and registers associated with the works are completed
* Assist in developing and introducing improved engineering methods throughout the plant while maintaining ISO 9002, HACCP and GMP standards
Skills and
Experience:
* Engineering Cert 3 (metal fabrication or machining preferred)
* Competent with manual arc, mig, and tig welding and with plasma and gas cutting
* Knowledge of conveyers, chain and sprocket bearing setup
* Experience with pneumatics
* Understanding of basic electrical automation
* Proven practical experience
* Good communication and interpersonal skill with a demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise effectively with staff
* Well developed work planning and organisation skills, and demonstrated ability to address fluctuating work demands and changing priorities
* Experience with lathe and mill operations
* Experience with hydraulics
