Position Overview: Our client, Sheltering Arms WA Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Therapist to join their team. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and manage communication and swallowing disorders, providing direct therapy, education, consultancy, and advocacy to clients and their families. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct diagnostic assessments to evaluate hearing, speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties using standardized tests and observational techniques. * Prepare detailed reports of assessment results and make referrals to relevant medical practitioners when necessary. * Recommend interventions and solutions for clients with hearing impairments, including hearing aids, implantable devices, medical treatment, and assistive listening tools, as well as providing rehabilitation programs. * Provide counselling, guidance, and information to clients and their families as part of treatment plans. * Support the development and implementation of noise control and hearing conservation strategies. * Deliver therapy and management programs for speech, language, learning, and communication disorders that may be developmental, disability-related, or acquired due to injury or illness. * Advise on safe eating and swallowing techniques, including body positioning and food/fluid textures, to reduce the risk of choking. * Educate and collaborate with health professionals, early childhood educators, teachers, and caregivers, providing support and counselling to clients and families affected by communication or swallowing difficulties. Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree or higher in Speech Pathology. * Experience working with individuals with communication, speech, or swallowing disorders preferred. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. * Compassionate, client-focused, and professional approach.
