Overview
We are seeking a Pavement Quality Technician for our Eastern Region Surfacing teams. This is a permanent full-time role that will require regular travel and work during nights and weekends through our peak season.
What’s on offer
As a Pavement Quality Technician, you will monitor asphalt compaction for density testing and perform field testing of asphalt.
Responsibilities
- Communicating with the Site Engineer and Supervisor for daily duty assignments.
- Work with the Asphalt Paving Foreman and Roller Operators on roller patterns to achieve optimum compaction through a Pavement Quality Indicator (PQI).
- Troubleshoot, identify, correct, and prevent quality control issues, together with reporting and record keeping.
Qualifications and experience
- Ideally, experience in the surfacing and production of asphalt; any civil or materials background is advantageous.
- Strong commitment to safety, effective communication skills, a valid driver’s licence, and basic computer skills.
