AHP2 Physiotherapist - Older Persons Mental Health | Flinders Medical Centre
Join our specialist mental health team as an AHP2 Physiotherapist at Flinders Medical Centre, where you will provide essential physiotherapy services to older adults in our Open Mental Health Services Ward 18V. This full-time contract position until April 2026 offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, delivering person-centred care that promotes recovery and functional independence. About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Clinical Staff, this role is responsible for providing physiotherapy services to both inpatients referred from wards, outpatients referred from clinics. The Physiotherapist is responsible for the assessment and management of patients which results in improved patient care and outcomes, under reduced direction from senior staff.
Duties for the role will include:
* Ensure caseload is managed appropriately by treating patients according to priority,
* Ensure relevant physiotherapy information is provided by maintaining records (casenotes and departmental) and statistical system in accordance with department guidelines,
* Participate on provision of co-ordinated health care by liaising with medical, nursing and other professional staff regarding patient care in meetings, ward rounds, clinics and providing written reports or other communications,
* Assist in promotion of professional development by participating in ongoing involvement with quality improvement projects, self-appraisal (SA Health supervision framework), performance development, in-service education programmes and research
* Assist in achievement of departmental goals by contribution to all activities as appropriate,
* Contribute to clinical rosters on a roster basis across all areas of Physiotherapy by becoming involved in updating all clinical aspects and reviewing evidence-based outcome activities
About you:
* Eligible for registration as a Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia,
* Physiotherapy skills in assessment and management of a broad range of conditions,
* Ability to set priorities and manage one's time effectively including the ability to supervise Physiotherapy students and assistants,
* Skills commensurate with AHP2 peer assessment process requirements,
* General post graduate experience in acute and/or sub-acute Physiotherapy in hospital settings,
* AHA and Physiotherapy student supervision experience
