As part of our Production team, we combine innovative design, engaging visuals, and research-based pedagogy to create resources that support teachers and inspire students.We are now seeking aSenior Graphic Designer to play a key role in shaping the look and feel of our print and digital materials ensuring every product reflects Origo’s commitment to quality, accessibility, and fun.

As part of the Production team, the Senior Graphic Designer plays a key role in creating high-quality, engaging, and accessible Grades K to 6 educational materials across print and digital formats. Working alongside another Senior Designer, this role ensures efficient workflows, consistency in visual design, and timely delivery of materials that support both teaching and learning. The Senior Graphic Designer contributes to exploring and implementing AI-driven efficiencies to enhance production processes and future-proof design workflows.

Applicants should submit a portfolio showcasing a range of design work, preferably including examples of educational, publishing, vector/Illustrator-based, or layout-focused projects. As ORIGO creates products for students in Grades K to 6, portfolios that demonstrate bold, bright, and fun designs are highly valued.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

Tertiary qualifications in Graphic Design or Visual Arts; postgraduate qualifications are a plus

Minimum three years’ experience in a similar role

Demonstrated experience at an intermediate to advanced level of creating designs and setting page layouts for print and digital applications

Strong sense of layout, typography, and visual storytelling, with the ability to offer a variety of design solutions for educational contexts (e.g., student workbooks, teacher guides, interactive digital assets)

Proven understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and best practices for making content inclusive and user-friendly for diverse learners

Excellent team work ethic and interpersonal skills, with the ability to participate in a collaborative production team environment, working closely with writers, and editors

Skilled in cross-functional collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders

Familiarity with HTML and basic web design principles

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign and Illustrator essential)

Excellent attention to detail and communication skills, both written and oral

Experience maintaining multiple schedules; familiarity with project management tools is a plus

Skilled in cross-functional collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders

Awareness of AI-enabled design tools and willingness to investigate generative AI efficiencies in production workflows

Available to participate in real-time collaboration with the Australian-based (AEST) and US-based (WST/CST) team members
