About the Opportunity
We have an exciting role for a Reception and Finance Assistant to join us at Gleeson College, commencing ASAP To support the absence of a staff member, this position is being offered on a Fixed-Term Replacement contract. During your time with us, you will be an integral part of both the Front Office and Finance team. In the Front Office Team, you will welcome visitors, parents, suppliers and many others to our front desk; answer and transfer calls; and review and forward emails sent to the College. When not engaged in peak times, you will also support the Finance team with general tasks such as data entry and receipting.
* This position is 37.5 hours/week during school term time (41 weeks per year).
* An Administration Grade 2 Education Support Officer at 0.85 FTE will receive a salary of $58,083 – $61,500 per annum rates).
* Commencing ASAP in late Jan and concluding Week 9 of the 2026 School Year (11 December 2026)
As our Reception and Finance Assistant, you will:
* Be the first point of contact for the school, greeting visitors warmly and providing a quality customer service
* Communicate effectively and establish positive relationships with staff, students, parents, visitors and external stakeholders, and referring enquiries as appropriate.
* Conduct routine financial tasks such as record-keeping, petty cash management, cash handling, receipting, balancing, and banking.
* Accurately enter and retrieve basic financial data from digital record systems.
* Attend to account enquires, calculating Payment Agreements, and arrange relevant payment plans.
You:
* Have excellent customer service skills that align with our values; exemplify professionalism, bring a positive attitude, and have a collaborative, relational and respectful spirit.
* Proficient computer skills particularly using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases, and operating a range of general office equipment. Financial/payroll software skills and experience is desirable.
* Have a Certificate III in Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business (or equivalent) and/or demonstrated expertise or capabilities in a similar capacity.
* Have the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
* Are willing to support the ethos of our Catholic College in line with the Gleeson 10 and Gleeson Staff 5 values.
* Are available to undergo our screening process, which includes a Working with Children Check, E-Screen, Applicant Declaration Form and completed RRHAN-EC training
