**Your new company**
An interesting and exciting opportunity has arisen within a privately owned organisation with large and specialised facilities across multiple precincts within ACT. This organisation prides itself on their culture and unique working environment. The Caretaker is responsible for working with a wider Operations Team, assisting in the smooth running of property precincts as well as the overall presentation & maintenance of the buildings.
**Your new role**
The Caretaker will be principally responsible for all minor maintenance works (within their skill level) across sections of the precinct. You will remain courteous and focus on customer service to all tenants through positive interaction. Specific duties are below;
- Communicate effectively with external contractors to arrange minor works as required, including supervising maintenance contractors that have been engaged.
- You will be required to backup and perform the duties of or assist in all areas of the Caretaker Maintenance team when required during periods of absence, leave or when workload dictates as directed by the Facilities Manager or Executive Team.
- Provide timely and effective responses to all customer enquiries. Ensure that enquiries are forwarded or discussed with the appropriate management/department if outside of scope.
- Maintain clear and concise communication with the management and other team members at all times.
- Understand the commercial aspects of the business and the impact on decision making. This may mean attending regular meetings with other internal stakeholders to understand the operational, leasing and revenue drivers.
- Working hours will be Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts determined by the Team Leader between 6.00am and 6.00pm.
**What you'll need to succeed***
- You will possess a strong leadership skill set
- Previous hands maintenance experience
- White Card
- Asbestos Awareness & Chemcert (desirable)
- Current driver's license
- Ability to work in a customer facing environment
