Context statement
The Core Clinical Systems Renewal Program (CCSRP) is a major technology program delivering Acacia – a Territory‑wide single, integrated health electronic record system. Through an inter‑agency collaborative approach, the team comprises public sector employees and contractors working together to deliver multiple streams of activity as the system is delivered in a phased approach. The work environment is dynamic, fast‑paced and results driven with high expectations of superior service delivery. As a Product Specialist, the incumbent will provide product expertise for the functionality and continuous improvement across administration and clinical functions, and ensure that system processes (e.g., registration, scheduling, admissions/discharges/transfers) are tightly aligned with clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and user expectations, ultimately supporting better patient care and operational efficiency.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide contemporary human, material, and financial resource management for defined area of practice.
2. Support delivery of excellence in nursing/midwifery care by modelling advanced knowledge, skills, and behaviours for the provision of client care and facilitating less experienced staff to develop appropriate skills, knowledge, abilities, and attitudes.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligibility for same.
2. Demonstrated high‑level leadership and management skills including strategic thinking, practical people management, and ability to support change in a dynamic multi‑disciplinary environment.
3. Demonstrated ability to analyse service performance and implement evidence‑based initiatives to improve client outcomes and organisational efficiency.
4. Demonstrated ability to facilitate a positive work environment, modifying practices where necessary to meet healthcare consumer and staff needs.
5. Demonstrated effective communication to maximise productive relationships with specialists and executive management, and manage conflict to promote cooperation and teamwork.
6. Demonstrates application of knowledge regarding social and cultural issues influencing health care provision.
Desirable
- Graduate Diploma, or equivalent, beyond entry to practice relevant to the specialty area.

The Product Specialist ensures that system processes (e.g., registration, scheduling, admissions/discharges/transfers) are tightly aligned with clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and user expectations, ultimately supporting better patient care and operational efficiency.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide analysis and expertise on Acacia product functionality and configuration, including validating solution requirements to guarantee fit for purpose product.
2. Provide oversight of business process definition to ensure alignment across final product solution and lead product releases activities, including review of release notes, validation and implementation into production.
3. Develop guidelines and standards to ensure product consistency and provide advice relating to the technical and functional requirements, including all state and federal statutory requirements.
4. Facilitate or undertake the development of relevant materials and documentation, including but not limited to testing materials, use cases, training materials, user documentation, process workflows and standard operating procedures.
5. Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for enhancements based on user feedback, data and operation needs.
6. Establish and maintain robust, positive professional relationships with key stakeholders including clinical and administrative systems users, the Clinical Leadership Group (CLG), CLG Working Group Leads and Members; and operate as the primary interface with vendor.
7. Advise and provide organisational leadership and support in relation to quality improvement strategies and the associated change in processes required for Product implementation.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high level professional and technical knowledge and experience in patient clinical and administration systems.
2. Well‑developed critical thinking, conceptual and analytical skills to undertake analysis of business processes and propose technology‑based solutions, with capability to deliver high‑level written reports.
3. Demonstrated experience in application lifecycle management to meet evolving needs of client agencies in a complex integrated environment.
4. Highly developed interpersonal, collaborative and negotiation skills; able to clearly articulate complex concepts and critical issues, with proven ability to influence and negotiate successful outcomes across a range of audiences.
5. Demonstrated high level of organisational skill with proven ability to effectively prioritise and deliver multiple deliverables, within strict timelines.
6. Proven skills in the effective use of standard office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office suite) with well‑developed operational understanding of the application of governance and information privacy principles.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice, accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in a health administration, health information or clinical coding related field and/or in an information technology related field.
2. Current experience in the NT Health digital environment is highly advantageous.
