The Department of Education is looking for school based social worker for the Biloela area. Temporary full-time availability is preferred but can be negotiated for the right candidate. This role is offered from 14 July 2025 until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.
Being part of the Student Wellbeing program we aim to ensure every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school. The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing program work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.

About The Role
This is a PO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the PO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the PO3 once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of PO2 to PO3 classification range.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
* Undertake individual and group counselling with students, parents and families to assist them in resolving personal or relationship concerns.
* Provide professional social welfare assessments, interventions and follow up support to students, parents/carers and individuals as required.
* Identify needs and participate in the referral and planning of services for children, parents and families to community agencies such as health and welfare.
* Develop and implement strategies to provide information, support and encourage awareness of, and participation by, parents/carers and the community in school activities and programs.
