Your new role
The Maintenance Officer will attend to maintenance works as requested by the Team Leader - Maintenance or Management. The duties of this role include:
* Perform commercial maintenance on multiple precincts as well as hands-on support across various commercial projects.
* Work independently and efficiently to complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
* Contribute to the smooth operation of facilities and maintenance services.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders (both internal and external) to arrange minor works as required, including supervising maintenance contractors that have been engaged.
* The Maintenance Officer will be required to support and perform the duties of or assist in all areas of the Maintenance team when required.
* Ensuring contractors that are engaged to carry out works across multiple precincts have a service agreement or minor works contract in place before commencing works, as well as reviewing safety documentation.
* Ensuring company and individual inductions have been completed by subcontractors.
* Supervising Contractors to ensure they are working in line with the company guidelines and monitoring works to confirm that the works are carried out safely.
* Always maintain clear and concise communication with management and other stakeholders.
* Understand the commercial aspects of the business and its impact on decision-making. This may mean attending regular meetings with other internal stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will need to have the following:
* A Certificate III in carpentry or Certificate IV in building and construction.
* Highly experienced in commercial carpentry and commercial maintenance.
* Proven experience in managing commercial projects and subcontractors.
* Ability to work autonomously while maintaining a strong team-oriented mindset.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Understanding of workplace safety standards and compliance with regulations.
* Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive approach to work.
* A valid white card, asbestos awareness, and silica awareness (or ability to obtain)
* A current c-class drivers' licence and own transport.
