About the role
As a Senior Pharmacist, working with SALHN Care Awaiting Placement Service (CAPS) you will oversee the organisation, management, and operation of the designated pharmacy area, delivering a comprehensive and advanced range of pharmacy services. You will use your expertise and independent clinical judgement to provide high-level therapeutic advice, medicines information, and pharmaceutical care to patients, medical and nursing staff, and other health professionals in line with hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards.
In this senior role, you will play a pivotal part in optimising patient outcomes through the safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of medicines. You will also contribute to service improvement by implementing evidence-based strategies, supporting the development of pharmacy practice, and mentoring staff. This is an opportunity to combine leadership and clinical excellence in a position that makes a real difference to patient care and the safe use of pharmaceuticals.
The SALHN CAPS team is based at the Repat Health Precinct, however travel within the metropolitan area will be required.
About You
You will be an experienced and motivated Pharmacist who brings advanced clinical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care. With excellent communication and organisational abilities, you will thrive in an environment that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Qualifications & Registration - Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and registered, or eligible for registration, with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
* Clinical & Technical Expertise - Extensive hospital pharmacy experience, with strong research, data analysis, and problem-solving skills to support evidence-based practice.
* Leadership & Teamwork - Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and educate staff while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
* Organisation & Professionalism - Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines, supported by comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice standards and codes.
