Are you passionate about building safer, more compliant transport operations?
We're seeking a highly experienced WHS and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) Transport & Distribution Assurance Manager to lead our safety, compliance, and risk frameworks across all transport activities.
In this pivotal role, you will ensure our organisation meets its Work Health and Safety (WHS) obligations and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), while driving a proactive safety culture throughout the business and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities

Lead internal and external audits to ensure the business meets all WHS, CoR, and HVNL requirements.
Oversee and continuously enhance compliance assurance programs across transport and distribution operations.
Risk Identification & Management

Implement strategies and controls to eliminate or effectively manage hazards.
Safety Management Systems (SMS)
Develop, implement, and improve an integrated Safety Management System aligned with WHS and CoR obligations.
Partner with leadership to embed best practice safety standards across operations.
Incident Response & Investigation
Lead investigations into incidents, breaches, and near misses.
Ensure timely close-out, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.

Build strong relationships with drivers, contractors, customers, and operational teams.
Deliver WHS and CoR training, inductions, and safety communications to support a strong safety culture.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate safety and compliance records.
Provide regular reporting to executive leaders demonstrating due diligence and operational safety performance.
Subcontractor & Partner Management
Manage pre-qualification, onboarding, and ongoing compliance of third-party transport providers.
Ensure alignment of all supply chain partners with CoR and WHS expectations.
About WHS & CoR Compliance
This role recognises the critical relationship between on-site WHS and supply-chain-wide CoR responsibilities.
You'll ensure our safety systems address every link in the chain, holding all parties accountable for safe transport practices—both inside and outside the organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
We're looking for someone with:
Solid background in compliance, auditing, or risk management—ideally within transport or logistics.
Strong working knowledge of the HVNL, NHVR requirements, fatigue management, and load restraint.
Formal qualifications such as a Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS or Business Administration (or equivalent).
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
If you're ready to take ownership of WHS and CoR excellence in a fast-moving transport environment, we'd love to hear from you.
