About the Employer
Our client is a global leader in the manufacture and supply of specialist construction products. With a legacy spanning more than eight decades, the company supports projects across commercial, residential, and civil infrastructure by providing innovative chemical systems designed to improve durability, safety, and efficiency in construction.
The Australian operation is anchored by a world-class production and R&D facility in Brisbane, which also serves as a training hub for contractors, engineers, and designers. The business is known for its broad technical expertise, customer-first culture, and high-performing product range that is trusted by builders and specifiers around the world.
About the Opportunity
This newly created role represents a chance to step into a territory and key account management position with significant growth potential. Reporting to the State Sales Manager, the Key Account Manager will be responsible for building market presence across South East Queensland and strengthening relationships with a diverse group of decision-makers across the construction industry.
You will work across multiple product lines — from waterproofing systems, tile adhesives, grouts, and levelling compounds through to concrete repair products, structural sealants, industrial flooring systems, and specialist bonding solutions (including fictional brands such as AquaShield Rapid Membrane, StoneLock Tile Adhesive, and FlexCore Structural Resin).
Your client base will be broad and multi-layered, spanning builders, engineers, architects, surveyors, project managers, and certifiers who influence specifications; government bodies and asset owners who mandate compliance; and contractors, applicators, and distributors who ultimately drive product adoption and installation. Success in this role requires not only growing sales but also influencing specifications and ensuring products are embedded into projects at the design and planning stage.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts across South East Queensland, ensuring strong engagement, repeat business, and increased market share.
* Actively identify and secure new opportunities through strategic prospecting, client visits, and participation in industry events.
* Provide technical support and product demonstrations to contractors, engineers, and builders, both on-site and in pre-construction planning.
* Partner with consultants, architects, surveyors, and government stakeholders to influence specifications and ensure systems are adopted into tenders.
* Deliver accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting through the CRM system.
* Work closely with technical and R&D teams to develop site-specific solutions that address client challenges.
* Keep abreast of competitor activity and industry developments, ensuring your territory strategy stays ahead of market trends.
About You
* Background in construction, engineering, or related fields is advantageous — either through a trade certificate, tertiary qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
* Proven track record in capital equipment, building products, or construction-related sales, ideally with 3+ years in b2b (business to business) sales experience.
* Strong understanding of specification-driven sales and the ability to influence consultants, engineers, and project managers.
* Excellent relationship-building skills with the confidence to engage at all levels, from site supervisors to C-suite executives.
* Commercially astute, self-driven, and capable of working independently while collaborating across teams.
* Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical detail for clients.
* A current and valid driver's licence.
* Some knowledge of comparable building products found in construction such as chemicals, grouts, adhesives, epoxy and bonding agents.
What's On Offer
* Salary: $105,000 – $115,000 + Super + Company Car + Performance Incentives (OTE significantly higher with commission).
* Flexible working model – spend 3–4 days per week on the road with occasional office visitation in Brisbane's Western Suburbs.
* Opportunity to represent a global market leader with one of the broadest and most trusted ranges of construction chemical solutions.
* A collaborative, supportive sales culture with training, technical support, and long-term career pathways.
* Long-term job security and progression within a growing organisation.
