Metal Fabricator (Custom Engineering Workshop) | Temp to Perm
My client is a specialist engineering company designing and manufacturing custom-built industrial equipment for global clients. They are known for delivering high-quality, engineered solutions, not repetitive or production-based work. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator who enjoys building custom components from drawings and working on varied, hands-on fabrication projects.
What You'll Be Doing
* Fabricate and assemble custom-built components and equipment from technical drawings
* Perform fit‐up, alignment, and assembly prior to welding
* Work across one‐off and small batch fabrication jobs (not production line work)
* Use MIG welding (primary) with some TIG where required
* Operate workshop machinery including cutting, grinding, and fabrication tools
* Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and fit
* Work closely with engineers and team members to deliver precision‐built products
What You Bring
* Proven experience in custom fabrication within an engineering workshop
* Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication/isometric drawings
* Experience in fit‐up, alignment, and assembling fabricated components
* Solid MIG welding experience (TIG exposure advantageous)
* Background in equipment, machinery, or general engineering fabrication
* Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
* Ability to work independently and solve fabrication challenges
Important – This Role Is NOT
* Structural steel / construction
* Pipe welding / oil & gas / shutdown work
* Production welding or repetitive fabrication
* Sheet metal / press brake / laser cutting environments
Working Hours & Benefits
* Monday to Friday | 6:00am - 2:30pm
* Monthly RDO
* Competitive hourly rates based on experience
