Summary:
The Panel Operator – Urea is responsible for overseeing and controlling the operation of the urea granulation processes within the fertilizer plant. This includes monitoring operations via control panels (DCS), maintaining optimal process parameters, troubleshooting issues, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordinating with field operators and maintenance teams. The role demands strong process understanding, safety awareness, and communication skills in a world-scale, hazardous plant environment.

Requirements
Education
* Degree/Diploma or technical certification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
* Familiarity with Snamprogetti/Thyssenkrupp (Urea) technologies is an advantage.
Experience
* Minimum 10 years hands-on experience as a panel operator in urea production facilities.
Skills
* Strong understanding of urea production processes and DCS operations.
* Proficiency in process monitoring, control loop tuning, and alarm management.
* Ability to troubleshoot process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues.
* High attention to detail with the ability to interpret live process data.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills.
* Capable of working in rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
* Experience with hazardous plant safety and exposure to world-scale operations.

About Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers:
Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers, based in Western Australia, is developing Project Ceres, Australia's largest and one of the world's biggest urea plants, with a USD $4.5 billion investment and a capacity of 2.3 million metric tons per year. Located in Karratha, the plant will use feedstock from Woodside under a 20-year supply agreement and has a 20-year offtake agreement with Incitec Pivot. Urea is a safe, non-toxic fertiliser vital for boosting global agricultural productivity. The project will support the fertiliser supply chain, add value to Australian resources, and create around 2,000 jobs, including 200 permanent roles, boosting the local economy.
