Job Description
To perform the role of Senior Cost Manager and Estimator, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery and to ensure that client objectives are met through the delivery of an effective cost management service. Experience on working on Aviation, Rail, Roads, Ports, Defence and Utilities projects in NSW.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate and develop good relationships with clients and stakeholders internally and externally.
* Responsible for pre and post-contract quantity surveying duties including preparation of cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variation, final account.
* Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
* Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
* Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documents.
* Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place.
* Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
* Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
* Business development experience, particularly in the context of identifying opportunities with existing clients.
* Possess the personality that is capable of determining needs for the business and gain support of the Directors.
* To work within the wider infrastructure team supporting multiple clients and project directors.
Qualifications
* Recognised tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar.
* Additional industry accreditations advantageous (e.g. RICS, AIQS, CIOB, APM, etc.).
* Experience in estimating software (CostX, Expert Estimator, similar).
* Excellent command of written and spoken English with ability to formulate professional reports and business generation material.
* Effective EQ and proven ability to contribute in high- performing team environments.
* 5-10+ years plus relevant industry experience.
* Strong infrastructure experience in mobility or power & utilities sectors.
* Clear technical understanding of cost estimating standards and industry best practice.
* Demonstrable reputation for collaborative working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
* Highly motivated with a passion for delivering client excellence.
