TAFE SA, South Australia's public provider of vocational education and training, is seeking an exceptional executive leader to drive the future of education delivery across the state.
As Executive Director, Education and Training, you will provide strategic leadership of TAFE SA's statewide education delivery function, encompassing five faculty areas and delivery across on‑campus, online and hybrid environments. You will play a critical role in enabling South Australians to thrive—through high‑quality, industry‑aligned education that supports the State's economic and social priorities.
This role suits an accomplished executive who is deeply passionate about education, public value, and building a skilled workforce for the future.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Executive team, you will:
Set the strategic direction for education delivery aligned to State priorities, industry needs and student aspirations
Lead a large, diverse educator workforce to deliver consistent quality, innovation and outstanding student outcomes
Ensure excellence in governance, compliance, accreditation and risk across vocational and higher education programs
Optimise end‑to‑end delivery performance through data‑driven planning, productivity, and continuous improvement
Build strong partnerships with government, industry and employers across metropolitan and regional South Australia
Provide sound financial stewardship to ensure sustainable, efficient delivery at scale
About You:
You are a respected Senior Executive with:
Proven experience leading large, complex service delivery functions in highly regulated environments
Deep understanding of vocational education and training across metropolitan and regional contexts
Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of government policy, systems and industrial environments
Demonstrated ability to lead change, manage risk, and drive performance improvement
A genuine commitment to equity, cultural safety and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. business, public administration, education, law, policy, economics)
Postgraduate or executive leadership qualifications highly desirable
