The Senior Finance Manager oversees accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and financial controls for the company's renewable energy projects. This role works closely with the development, construction, and operations teams, acting as one of the main points of contact for all accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all general ledger activities for the Australian business and its renewables projects.
* Ensure compliance with Australian GAAP and IFRS, including complex areas like commodity, derivatives, and revenue accounting.
* Prepare and review management and external financial reports, including audited financial statements.
* Coordinate with external auditors and resolve audit issues.
* Prepare quarterly IFRS report for the purpose of group consolidation.
* Keep company books and records up to date and ensure regulatory filings are completed.
* Monitor key contracts for correct accounting treatment.
* Provide regular financial reports and metrics to support business decisions.
* Maintain detailed records for balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, receivables, and payables.
* Work with the Finance/Treasury team on cash flow, debt compliance, and forecasting.
* Collaborate with RWE's global renewables accounting team.
* Act as the main point of contact for accounting queries from the business.
* Liaise with different departments to resolve accounting and reporting questions promptly.
* Work closely with the Shared Service Centre (SSC) to ensure smooth delivery of accounting services.
* Coordinate with the SSC to maintain high‐quality, timely processing of transactions and reports.
* Identify and address any issues in processes between the business and SSC to improve efficiency.

Qualifications and experience
* Licensed CA with a minimum 5 years of broad accounting experience with a Big 4 firm or large regional CPA firm
* Technical knowledge of IFRS and Australian GAAP specifics required, and a solid understanding of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets business processes.
* Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or Finance
* Experience with the preparation of annual audited financial statements with footnotes. Appreciation of the financial rigor and the compliance and controls required by a publicly traded company necessary.
* Wind energy project development, power industry, and/or real estate partnership experience helpful.
* Proficient knowledge in the use of ERP systems such as SAP
* Experience with software implementation and administration, as well as use of ERP systems and invoice approval software solutions.
* Cost awareness and cost efficiency orientation
* Strong integration, intercultural and communicative skills
* Demonstrated team player with a can‐do attitude who takes a collaborative approach, strives for excellence, and acts with integrity.
