The role of an Aviation Medical Officer / General Practitioner plays a pivotal part in supporting Defence personnel with high-quality medical care.
This position is based in a modern facility and involves providing medical services, including aviation-based services such as fitness to fly assessments and aircrew clinical health management.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Practitioner to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of Defence personnel.
As an Aviation Medical Officer / General Practitioner, you will be responsible for:
Providing medical services, including aviation-based services such as fitness to fly assessments and aircrew clinical health management.
Providing medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager, and Commanders of units.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner.
FRACGP, FACRRM, or Vocational Registration.
Minimum 2 years' full-time (or part-time equivalent) GP experience in the last 5 years.
Australian Citizenship – for Baseline Security Clearance requirements.
Basic military aviation medicine course or equivalent.
