Overview

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer - Mechanical to join APA\'s Operations & Maintenance team in Albury, NSW on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the Team Leader South, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of APA\'s pipeline and plant systems across the South region. If you have a general mechanical background and are eager to build your career in the energy sector, we\'ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

Responsibilities

- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on pipelines, compressor stations, meter stations, and related mechanical equipment.
- Assist with diagnosing mechanical issues and supporting more complex repairs under guidance.
- Conduct site inspections and surveillance activities to ensure safe operations.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and modifications.
- Complete work records and reports to support compliance and maintenance programs.
- Participate in the on-call roster and respond to operational requirements as needed.
- Receive ongoing training and development to grow your technical skills.

Qualifications

- General mechanical background (e.g., trade, maintenance, plant, or similar).
- Willingness to learn and practical, hands-on approach with problem-solving ability.
- Safety-conscious and committed to working within industry regulations and APA procedures.
- Organised and reliable, with the ability to follow procedures and complete work accurately.
- Team player with positive communication skills.

The Operations & Maintenance team in Albury exists to safely operate APA Transmission assets in an efficient and cost-effective manner to enable APA to achieve its business strategy and goals, extract maximum value from its assets, and deliver value for its customers.
