About the role and you
SEN is looking for a Camera & Technical Operator. The role of a Camera & Technical Operator is pivotal in delivering high-quality video content to our clients at Harness Racing Victoria. As a Camera Operator you will film high-quality video footage that tells compelling stories and captivates audiences. As a Technical Operator you will oversee the technical and engineering management and support for live sport broadcast productions ensuring all vision and productions are maintained at the highest quality
The main duties include:
* Set-up, operation and maintenance of broadcast equipment, including sync, timings, chroma, camera control and audio quality.
* Working as part of a team to facilitate excellent coverage, and taking initiative in getting framing, shot selection and compelling footage.
* Logistics management ensuring that all equipment is available and accountable.
* Liaising with HRV and Clubs across the State, ensuring that productions are delivered effectively and to specification.
* Acting at the primary point of contact for on location shoots, acting as a SEN representative and maintaining SEN in professional standards, actions and conduct.
* Problem-solving technical issues, broadcast difficulties, being effective in communication with the HRV officials and Club management.
* Reporting updates to the Production Manager and Broadcast Operations Manager and ensuring that all KPI goals and targets for the project are being met.
* Works with the internal SEN team, production managers, producers, directors, network partners, clients, sponsors, suppliers, as well as Club representatives and HRV officials.
We are looking for someone who has:
* Understanding of broadcast camera gear, OB truck equipment, audio, communications and cabling.
* Experience with Sony, Reidel, Ross, Simply Live, and cable termination and troubleshooting.
* A car license, ideally manual and experience with driving with trailers.
* Knowledge of horse racing and advantage, but not required.
