We're seeking a skilled practitioner to join our team as a School Inclusion Advocate in Darwin and Palmerston.

About the Role
In this part-time, maximum term role (22.8 hours or 3 days per week, until March 2027), you'll work closely with the Team Leader and Specialist Advocate to provide advocacy services for students attending or enrolling in Northern Territory Government (NTG) schools and their families.
* Your Key Responsibilities:
* Work with children and families to identify strengths and establish goals towards achieving the child's increased inclusion in education
* Assist students and their families to understand and navigate the education system, practices and processes
* Refer the student and their family to support networks, organisations and information sources
* Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including Department of Education, NTG Schools, Service Providers, Peak Organisations
* Collect and record program data and information for planning, evaluation and reporting purposes
About You
We're looking for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about advocating for children and young people. You'll use a strengths-based and client-centred approach, with a strong understanding of child rights and the importance of access to education.
* You Will Have:
* Demonstrated experience working alongside children and young people, families and carers, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, low socioeconomic and socially or geographically isolated families
* Understanding and experience of working within NTG school environments
* Knowledge and understanding of the stresses on vulnerable families and the range of family risk and protective factors impacting on child outcomes
* Ability to maintain accurate records, including entering and maintaining information in an electronic database
