Join the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) and help shape how Victoria engages with communities and stakeholders on one of its most significant regulatory reforms. About the Opportunity Tobacco Licensing Victoria (TLV) is delivering the Victorian Government's commitment to regulate the lawful supply of tobacco through a new licensing scheme. This initiative is designed to: Prohibit the sale of tobacco products by anyone not holding a valid licence under the Act. Safeguard the suitability of licensed retailers and wholesalers. Minimise risks associated with tobacco sales through enforceable licence conditions. Enable efficient and effective regulatory oversight. As Senior Communications and Engagement Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring these objectives are clearly communicated and understood across diverse stakeholder groups. Your Impact Reporting to the Principal Adviser, Engagement, you will: Develop and implement strategic communications and engagement plans that support TLV's rollout and long-term success. Create clear, accessible and engaging content to educate stakeholders on licensing requirements and regulatory changes. Provide expert advice on stakeholder needs, risks and messaging strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, government partners, and external stakeholders to ensure consistent and effective communication. About You You're a strategic thinker and skilled communicator who can translate complex policy into compelling, audience-focused messaging. You bring: Experience in developing and delivering communications and engagement strategies, ideally in a public sector or regulatory context. Excellent writing and content development skills across formats and audiences. The ability to quickly grasp new subject matter and provide sound, timely advice. A collaborative mindset and confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders. Qualifications: Relevant experience and/or tertiary qualifications in communications, engagement, public policy or a related field. Why Join Us?
