JOB PURPOSE/ROLE:
Responsible for testing complex Structural Engineering, CAD, visualization, and engineered services software to ensure compliance with relevant Australian standards and accuracy of engineering design and analysis. Including the design, creation, documentation of, and execution of complex engineering test cases and providing Technical Support. Is an active and critical member of an engineering team within the structural design software development process and is a key part of the decision-making group to assess the risk of various projects alongside software developers and engineering product managers. In addition, providing structural engineering support to the CX (Customer Experience) and FAM (Fabricator Account Manager) Teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE:
A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum 3-5 years professional experience, registration as a Professional Engineer in your state as applicable with ability to join Engineer Australia NER or CPEng program.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Developing structural design briefs and design safety reports for timber residential structures to support software developers in the development of MiTek structural design tools.
Reviewing and interpreting structural design codes to provide engineering guidance and assistance in the development of MiTek structural design software.
Conducting advanced structural analysis and calculations for testing the functionality and precision of MiTek-developed structural design software in different application scenarios.
Collaborate and contribute with Engineering Product Management and other development teams on structural engineering software requirements to ensure that solutions are efficient, consistent, and fulfill business needs.
Developing structural designs and evaluating design results from the software to ensure compliance with relevant standards and reliability of the software results.
Perform accuracy analysis of cost estimations for structural components produced by the software.
Act as a critical part of the decision-making group to assess the risk of certain projects to determine the appropriate timing and scope of engineering software development effort.
Develop systems and procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of work undertaken by the CX Engineering.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Software Quality Analyst I along with additional responsibilities within SQA team and opportunities to lead scrum meetings.
Design, develop, document, train and execute complex engineering test cases used for regression testing cycle.
Work in an Agile environment (using Scrum), participating in daily meetings, monthly retrospective, and planning meetings as required.
Apply generally accepted Quality Assurance standards and techniques to assure efficient engineering logic and data manipulation.
Liaise with MiTek Prefabrication Customers, Builders, and Engineers on technical troubleshooting.
Assist FAMs (Fabricator Account Managers) with software and technical engineering inquiries.
Provide data file development and support as required.
Attendance during regular work hours and overtime as required.
