Leading Hand – Technician – Launceston, TAS
CJD Equipment, the Tasmanian distributor for Kenworth, DAF, Fuso trucks, and Volvo Construction Equipment, is seeking an experienced HD Technician – Leading Hand to join our team in Launceston .
Excellent leadership and strong people skills are required, as you will be assisting and supporting your team in solving technical and operational problems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Mentoring, leading, and directing the workshop team
2. Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing equipment to meet customer expectations
3. Assisting the service manager with job costing, quotations, and retail repairs
4. Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service at all times
Required skills/attributes:
* Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Motor mechanic trade certificate
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A high level of self-motivation and ability to work without direct supervision
* Proven ability to identify and resolve problems
* Good computer skills with standard PC programs and equipment diagnostic tools
* Experience in maintenance, servicing, repairs, and rebuilds of heavy vehicles
* Experience with electrical diagnostics and repairs (desirable)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-focused approach
