You'll bring deep expertise—in areas such as incident response, engineering automations, detections, and threat hunting—where you will apply hands-on technical skills to build resilient detection systems, automate workflows, and strengthen our ability to respond to threats at scale.You'll be a technical leader, partnering across teams to define detection and response strategies, build scalable capabilities, and mentor peers across the group.ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and scaling of detection and incident response capabilities.Coordinate across teams to define detection and response strategies.Build scalable capabilities and automate workflows to improve threat detection and response at scale.Mentor peers and contribute to a high-performing security engineering culture.QualificationsA strong incident response (IR) background with demonstrated expertise coordinating large scale security incidents and delivering required capabilities across the full IR lifecycleProven experience in threat hunting and contributing effective detections at scaleHands-on technical experience across all aspects of detection and response, with a focus on scaling through development and automation in a cloud-native environment (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure)Proficiency in building automation and tooling for detection and response, ideally in Python, Golang, or JavaThe ability to thrive in a high-paced, product-driven environment, often working across multiple concurrent work streamsAn intimate understanding of detection and response capabilities, with a proven track record of building them out in complex environmentsHands-on experience using AI in your work to drive greater impactBeneficial Experience (not Required, But Helpful)Knowledge and experience with Kubernetes and containerised production environmentsPrior experience designing and running detection systems at scaleFamiliarity with Endpoint Detection and Response tooling, policy deployment, and managing alert triage at enterprise scaleAbout The TeamThe Security Group is responsible for protecting Canva systems and data from information security threats. 
Our teams work together, and with other groups, to deliver preventive and detective controls and processes that reduce security risk. 
The group runs programs across Enterprise Security, Application Security, Risk Management, and Threat Detection and Response domains.
