An established commercial law practice is looking to appoint an Associate or Senior Associate to join its restructuring and insolvency team in Sydney.
This role offers exposure to complex restructures, distressed scenarios and formal insolvency appointments, alongside related disputes work.
You will be involved in matters from early-stage advisory through to enforcement and litigation, working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to strategy and execution.
The work spans a broad mix of engagements, including advising creditors, insolvency practitioners, corporates, funds and investors on restructures, workouts, distressed investments and recovery strategies. Matters are often high-value and commercially sensitive, requiring a practical and solutions-focused approach.
You will have the opportunity to take ownership of matters, build client relationships and support more junior lawyers within the team.
The Practice
This team operates across a wide range of restructuring and insolvency matters, including both formal appointments and complex pre-insolvency scenarios. The work is varied and regularly involves collaboration with other practice areas, giving exposure to financing, disputes and broader commercial considerations.
The group is known for its pragmatic and commercially focused approach, particularly in situations involving stakeholder complexity and value preservation.
About You
This opportunity would suit a lawyer with approximately 3–7 years' PQE with experience in restructuring and insolvency, or a background in banking, finance or litigation with a strong interest in this space.
You will bring:
