The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our energetic Child & Family Team at Access Health & Community. We are looking for a dynamic Grade 2 or experienced Grade 1 Physiotherapist. This is a permanent part‐time position for 0.6 – 0.8 EFT. The role is based across our sites in Balwyn North, Lilydale, with the ability to travel to Doncaster and Belgrave.
About The Role
The position encompasses promotion of health and well‐being across the spectrum from prevention and early intervention through to a range of goal‐directed treatments and care planning. A Senior Physiotherapist will provide one‐to‐one supervision and multiple peer supervision opportunities exist to support a rich learning environment.
Key responsibilities:
* Operate a paediatric physiotherapy service within multi‐disciplinary teams to ensure delivery of centre‐based and outreach services to all eligible clients
* Assess, plan and provide interventions for a caseload of pre‐school and school‐aged children
* Initiate, plan, implement and evaluate group therapy programs for children
* Participate in client care meetings and department meetings for team care planning, case conferencing and client review
* Review the content of individual and group programs and make service changes based on outcomes of these reviews
Your caseload
Children aged 0–12 years with developmental delays and disability. Clients are funded through a mix of public and NDIS health funding.
Services are delivered in a variety of ways, including:
* Clinic‐based individual and joint sessions with another allied health discipline
* Groups – movement‐based, social, communication and school readiness skills‐based programs
* Telehealth
* Homes, kindergartens, child‐care centres and other community spaces
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in physiotherapy
* Experience working with children in a health or community‐based setting
* For Grade 2: minimum of 3 years' experience working with children in a physiotherapy position
* Knowledge of typical and atypical childhood development to understand the child's developmental delay or disability
* Skills in physiotherapy assessment and intervention based on current evidence‐based practice to ensure positive outcomes for the child and family
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Experience in planning and delivering group therapy programs
Compliance Requirements
* Professional registration – AHPRA
* National Police Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Evidence of the right to work in Australia and a valid Driver's Licence
* First Aid and CPR
