Legal Counsel – Commercial & Technology (Contract)
6 Month Contract | Up to $180,000 package
We are recruiting a Legal Counsel for a global technology organisation operating within the SaaS and smart mobility space. Headquartered in Melbourne, this business works closely with government bodies, transport authorities and large commercial operators across Australia and internationally.
This is a 6 month contract role with genuine potential to extend, supporting a busy commercial function during a period of growth.
THE ROLE
Reporting into General Counsel, you will provide practical and commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters, including:
* Reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts including customer agreements, supplier agreements, NDAs, MSAs and SOWs
* Advising on commercial, corporate and regulatory matters impacting the business
* Supporting intellectual property, data protection and risk management issues
* Providing employment and people related legal advice, including employment and contractor agreements and HR policies
* Assisting with the development and refinement of contract templates and negotiation strategies
ABOUT YOU
You will be a 5PQE lawyer with strong experience working in-house or closely with in-house teams, ideally within the SaaS, technology or broader commercial sector. You will bring:
* Solid experience across commercial law and contract drafting
* Exposure to technology or software based businesses
* A pragmatic approach and ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
