Damon Australia Pty.
Ltd. is a specialist manufacturer and importer of conveyors, conveyor rollers and materials handling equipment.
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a wealth of experience and knowledge in the design of carton and pallet conveying and materials handling systems to join our team in our Craigieburn office.
Key tasks and responsibilities
Assist the sales team with conceptual designs and technical support
Preparation of drawings for tender submissions
Liaise with clients to provide concept to completion solutions and service
Project management
Production planning
Preparation of detailed assembly and parts drawings
Liaise with suppliers for the supply of parts and equipment
Stock control
Preparation of operation and maintenance manuals
Provision of technical support for the assembly and installation of conveyors, rollers and materials handling equipment
Maintaining strong communication between stakeholders throughout project lifecycle
Providing hazard assessments and working to health and safety compliance standards
Reports and design reviews for evaluations on new and existing products
Preparation and evaluation of manufacturing and assembly procedures
Quality control and cost control
Selection criteria
To be considered for the role of Mechanical Design Engineer, the candidate must have at least 5 years experience in designing, manufacturing and providing end to end materials handling solutions
Evidence of experience in the design, manufacture, implementation and project management in the conveyor and materials handling industry
Sound knowledge of roller conveyors, belt conveyors, chain conveyors and various materials handling equipment
High level of expertise in AutoCAD and Inventor
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
A strong understanding of conveyor safety standards to enable the preparation of risk assessments
Proactive and able to work autonomously or in a team
The ability to manage projects from concept to commissioning
Ability to build rapport with clients and maintain client relationships
