Senior Chef - Tarragal Glen Manor

As our Chef, you will play a pivotal role alongside our Head Chef, in the daily operations of our kitchen, leading and empowering an efficient team while ensuring the highest standards of Workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.
The position
Reporting to the Village Manager, you will also be responsible for:
* The control of stock take, food orders, and costing for an effective kitchen operation.
* Overseeing team members and providing support as required.
* Maintaining and managing all food regulations.
* Planning and preparing food for events and special functions within the village.
* Ensuring all kitchen employees follow company policies and procedures, as well as reporting any HS&E breaches of policies.
* Maintaining high standards, in all aspects of the business
* Ensuring privacy and confidential policies are adhere to strictly and information regarding our residents will only be provided to external parties by management.
* Participating in company meetings, reviews, trainings, and other special projects.
We're on the lookout for someone with:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
* Experience in preparation of nutritionally adequate and appropriate meals specific to Aged Care
* Ability to multi-task and perform within timeline.
* Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
* Empathy and respect towards aged care residents and staff.
* Extensive experience in food costing and ordering within budgetary constraints.
* Roster management skills.
* Current Food Handling Certificate.
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/formal Chef/Cook training.
* National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
* First Aid & CPR Certificate (or ability to obtain).
* Prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment including Drug and Alcohol Testing
