Volunteer Opportunity
We are seeking dedicated individuals to become Independent Visitors for children and young people in care.

* Can you commit to at least 24 months with one visit per month?

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, open-minded, and bold. They will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to form meaningful relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.
As an Independent Visitor, you will decide how to spend time with your assigned child or young person, engaging in activities that promote their development and well-being. This may include sports, cultural events, or simply spending quality time together.
Our service values stability and consistency in these relationships, ensuring that young people can rely on their Independent Visitor to provide ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build Meaningful Relationships
Develop a strong bond with your assigned young person, fostering trust and understanding through regular visits and activities.
2. Provide Emotional Support
Offer a listening ear and provide emotional support to help young people navigate challenging situations and build resilience.
3. Facilitate Developmental Activities
Engage in activities that promote the cognitive, emotional, and social development of young people, tailoring experiences to their interests and needs.
4. Maintain Confidentiality
Respect the confidentiality and privacy of young people, adhering to guidelines and protocols to ensure their safety and well-being.
