Job Description
This role is a critical part of strengthening technical capability, improving consistency, and ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes for the community.
The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for civil maintenance and construction activities. They will deliver specialist engineering assessments, including road safety audits, speed limit reviews, and heavy vehicle permits. Additionally, they will oversee condition assessments, hazard identification, and maintenance planning to support capital works programming.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Technical Services team.
2. Manage statutory and self-assessable approval processes.
3. Deliver specialist engineering assessments.
4. Oversee condition assessments and maintenance planning.
5. Conduct civil infrastructure inspections and investigations.
6. Provide expert engineering advice to stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and government agencies.
7. Develop and maintain Quality Assurance systems, policies, technical procedures, and reporting frameworks.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent. You must also possess RPEQ or be able to obtain it. Experience in Local Government engineering, infrastructure planning, or civil operations is highly desirable. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as well as excellent organisational and project management skills.
