Remuneration
The successful applicant will receive a tax‐free stipend of $53,608 per annum (2026 full‐time rate) plus the opportunity for a paid internship with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).

The Zema Energy Studies Scholarship, launched by Monash University and the AEMO in March 2019, offers a world‐class PhD program to develop the nation's future energy leaders. The scholarship aims to create a cohort of energy professionals with advanced multidisciplinary knowledge across engineering, IT, and business & economics. The PhD program is designed to deepen students' expertise, unlock their full leadership potential, and help them gain exposure to Australia's national energy industry.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and must fulfil the criteria for PhD admission at Monash University, demonstrating excellent research capability.
