DPFC is managed by Corrections Victoria, with healthcare delivered by Western Health's Custodial Health sector. Custodial experience and MATOD training are an advantage but not essential. Most shifts fall on weekdays, with some Saturdays included, and hours range from 8am to 7pm. Clinic and outreach shifts involve patient‑requested health appointments, while reception shifts focus on health assessments for new arrivals. Each day there are two GPs rostered, one covering reception and one in clinic, with the support of 24/7 nursing staff and onsite managers during business hours.
