Who we are
The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) is part of the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. As primary agency for Australia's Antarctic Program (AAP), the AAD is responsible for achieving the Australian Government's Antarctic goals.
These goals are to:
* maintain the Antarctic Treaty System and enhance Australia's influence within it
* protect the Antarctic environment
* understand the role of Antarctica in the global climate system
* undertake scientific work of practical, economic and national significance.
The AAD also has responsibility for administering the Australian Antarctic Territory and the Territory of Heard Island and McDonald Islands.
The People and Culture Branch comprises Outreach, Media and Communication, Risk, WHS and Business Continuity, Integrated Planning, Polar Medicine, Leadership and Culture, Organisational Psychology, Expeditioner Services and Capability and Training. The branch supports our workforce in Antarctica and building a safe and positive organisational culture.
The Outreach, Media and Communications section delivers media engagement, internal communications, arts and education engagement, graphic design, videography and web management. The section aims to engage national and international audiences in the science, importance, operational capabilities and achievements of the Australian Antarctic Program.
The job
* Co-ordinate media and stakeholder queries, vision and image requests and manage information flows
* Develop internal and external communications content and products for approval
* Web and intranet content management and publishing
* Support internal and external communications activities
* Manage business support systems and processes
* Utilise analytics systems for reports and insights
