The Senior Research and Insights Officer position is responsible for delivering and coordinating market research projects within the branch and across DESI to assist in understanding the attitudes and perceptions of Queenslanders in departmental topics. This will ensure the department has valuable information, customer and community insights to better inform and track the impact of its activities, including behaviour change strategies and campaigns.In this role you will have the opportunity to: Design and deliver a range of primary and secondary research covering qualitative and quantitative methodologies, market analyses, audience profiling, and evaluations.Manage research projects internally and with external agencies, including leading procurement processes.Provide data-driven insights to guide communication strategies, programs and campaigns.Extract, analyse and simplify data to provide actionable insights and meaningful recommendations to inform behaviour change communication opportunities and engagement activities.Translate research results and data into an engaging narrative with clear business implications for a variety of audiences.Provide advice to business units regarding methodology and market research best practice. Your insights will help to inform communication strategies and campaigns across our portfolio, which may include:• Wildlife (Be Dingo safe on K'gari; Be Crocwise in Croc Country)• Waste, recycling and the circular economy• The Great Barrier Reef, marine parks, protected areas, national parks and recreational areas• Environmental compliance and regulation• Heritage• Science • InnovationWhat we are looking forIf you are a hands-on market research practitioner who is experienced in delivering a range of research projects end-to-end, we want to hear from you!
