The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for one Allied Health Lead Practitioner for CYMHS Youth Mental Health in the Northwest of Tasmania.
The Team:
Join a team dedicated to delivering high-quality mental health services to young people and their families. We are seeking a senior allied health professional with experience in clinical leadership, complex case management, assessment, counselling, and therapy, preferably within mental health or a related sector. You will work within a supported, innovative, multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment to young people and their families.
Our Aim:
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in Tasmania is expanding We are looking for a passionate Lead Practitioner to provide clinical services to young people and their families experiencing mental health concerns. This role is part of our new team, developed under the CYMHS reform program, including initiatives like Youth, Youth Forensic, Out of Home Care, and Youth Hospital in the Home.
The Lead Practitioner will have a person-centred approach and work within a multidisciplinary team, providing high-level clinical leadership.
* Leadership training is available through the Tasmanian Health Service and University of Tasmania.
You will:
* Be part of a dynamic, well-supported team committed to high-quality mental health services for young people and their families.
* Provide clinical services, including complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, and develop specialised treatment programs.
* Collaborate with team leaders and psychiatrists to develop new youth mental health services in Tasmania.
* Lead and support a diverse team of clinicians, offering consultation and support as needed.
Position details:
* Based in Devonport, covering the Northwest coast of Tasmania.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full-time, day shift position, working 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable.
Applicants should note that the selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies within twelve months of the job posting.
Salary: $123,717 to $138,296 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation contribution.
* Salary in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022.
* Salaries beyond $130,900 are subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
Additional allowances may include:
* Professional Development Allowance up to $1000 per annum.

Successful candidates must meet essential criteria, including:
* Satisfactory completion of an allied health qualification and registration with the relevant National Board.
* Current Working with Children Registration.
Desirable criteria include:
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
* Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the role or working towards them.
