About the role:
* You will report to the Engineering Manager and the Electronics team leader for technical matters relating to how you perform your work, the tools you use and the work you will undertake.
* Your work will involve working closely with other Engineers and may involve working with Project Managers, the Purchasing Officer and the Business Development Team.
* Your main task will be to design, simulate, prototype, test and document integrated electro-mechanical systems as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet Project objectives.

In executing this role, you will:
* Apply Tectonica's engineering design and development process to the design of hardware solutions as per project requirements.
* As part of a team, contribute to the planning, design, development, and documentation of electronic systems. This will include functional, systems, acceptance, performance and certification tests to uncover defects, improve the overall quality of hardware elements and to demonstrate compliance with the specification.
* Create hardware designs, verification documents, production plans, work instructions and quality control documents in support of the product design, development and manufacture process.
* Participate in working groups, design reviews, and other forums internally and with customers and end-users to discuss and agree designs and explore improvement opportunities.
* Provide estimates for the team schedule and notify any schedule variances to the team leader.
* Comply with Tectonica policies, processes and instructions including those relating to safety, duty of care and the Quality Management System.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Degree in electrical/electronic engineering
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
* Excellent document and report writing ability
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes
* Proficient in MS Office suite
* Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of supporting a team in developing creative and innovative solutions
* Ability to prioritise and effectively manage time to meet project requirements.
* Flexibility to adapt to new tasks, technologies, processes, and procedures
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Initiative to act beyond specific job responsibilities and within company policy to achieve objectives
Individuals with experience in industries such as Rail/Transport, Medical, Automotive or Commercial Electronics are encouraged to apply.
