- _The Property Service Officer contributes to the delivery of the department's strategic approach to the ongoing management of accommodation use and facilities services for the Property portfolio, including the delivery of facilities management and accommodation services under the Whole of Government Property Service Provider Arrangements._

**Who we are**
The People Property and Security Division is one of four divisions of Enabling Services Group. The division empowers capable thriving people, supports our people and leaders across the employment life cycle by enabling the effective management of people-related risk and building future ready leaders, people and culture. The division consists of four branches: HR Strategy, HR Operations, Integrity, and Property and Security.
The Property and Security Branch is responsible for enhancing the department's business capability through the effective management of the department's property portfolio, property enabling functions, protective security, emergency management, as well as a range of corporate site services and commercial contracts nationally.
The Property Services team deliver business services across property management, fleet management, business continuity and corporate support activities to regional business areas. This includes management of national corporate contracts and their performance. The role would suit someone with experience in property and facilities management, and with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
**The Job**
- Work in a small team responsible for property and business support services,
- provide a high level of client service to departmental staff for property related services and act as an escalation point for property officers,
- following up issues and communicating outcomes to team members and managers and escalate when needed,
- communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in relation to property matters,
- develop and maintain professional relationships with the department's property service provider,
- update information as new processes/policies are implemented, updating information as it becomes out of date,
- draft building notifications and input for relevant communication channels,
- assist in monitoring the quality-of-service delivery and develop a productive working relationship with building managers, clients, contractors and staff at all levels,
- provide on the job training for property officers and support less experienced employees to achieve their goals through guidance and quality assurance of their work,
- provide adhoc support as required.

**Knowledge and experience**
An understanding of:
- The Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
- The Commonwealth Property Management Framework.
- Legislation and industry standards relating to property, particularly the Building Codes of Australia.
**Eligibility and other requirements**
**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry you must be an Australian citizen.
**Security Clearance** - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
**Pre-employment Check** - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period of 6 months.
