Position Overview
APA Group is seeking a First Response & Metering Technician to join its Operations team in Kidman Park, South Australia on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Supervisor – First Response & Metering, you will play a key role in providing the safe and timely delivery of field activities in relation to gas escapes, disconnection and reconnection of domestic and commercial services, including regulators and metering equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Work as part of an efficient team under the general direction of a Supervisor or Coordinator
Complete supply investigation and rectification activities
Respond and classify gas leaks, as per the APA Group Leak Management Plan
Pinpoint probable sources of gas leaks using equipment provided
Undertake activities relating to relighting appliances of end-users
Maintain constant awareness of personal safety and that of colleagues and the general public
Participate in a rotating roster with occasional weekend, night and afternoon work
Background & Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous
Licensed or registered gas fitter
C-class driver's licence
Demonstrated experience in gas distribution or field maintenance will be highly regarded
Customer focused, with strong communication skills
