About the Service
Community Mental Health Clinicians – Making a Real Difference in People's Lives. At Southern, our team provides expert assessment, therapy, and care coordination for individuals navigating mental health challenges – right where they live. You'll be part of a compassionate, multidisciplinary team committed to promoting recovery and resilience.
What You'll Be Doing
The Community Mental Health Clinician provides recovery-focused clinical services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison and review for children and young people presenting with symptoms of mental illness, distress and/or risk issues.
Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist; or tertiary qualifications for Social Work, Counsellor or Welfare Officer with eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association.
Demonstrated experience in contemporary clinical Child and Adolescent Mental Health practice, including conducting mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents and their families/carers experiencing mental illness.
Demonstrated understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act *****).
Understanding of the concept and principles of mental health rehabilitation and recovery, and demonstrated experience using a collaborative, strengths-based approach to the care of mental health consumers.
High-level communication skills, engaging and collaborating with consumers, families, carers and stakeholders, and computer literacy proficiency.
Current unrestricted driver's licence, ability to drive/travel as required, potentially long distances.
