About the Role
Furphy's Foundry, based in Shepparton, are seeking a Team Leader to join our expanding business Supervising the Timber Fabrication, Gal Prep and Powder Coat teams, you will be well versed in managing people, deadlines, scheduling work and ideally have manufacturing or similar industry experience. Working with two other Team Leaders and reporting to the Production Manager, this position is critical in the fabrication of timber based products and coating of steel products, ensuring they are on time and to our Quality Assurance objectives. Your team is made up of qualified builders, trade assistants and experienced coatings staff.

Working conditions
Working in the Timber Fabrication and Powder Coat work centres, you will have a dedicated desk and computer arrangement which is on the shop floor. Standard 38 hour week plus overtime for opening and closure of the plant. You will be surrounded by a supportive and friendly team, everyone pulling together to achieve a common goal. Duties include
* Delegate weekly and daily work operations to ensure all jobs meet scheduled completion dates.
* Supervise, Lead, Encourage and Teach all staff reporting to your work centre/s.
* Ensure Productivity and Efficiency targets are being met and implement improvements where required.
* Undertake inspections of work for quality requirements and ensure staff are working to policies and standards per ISO 9001 requirements.
* Liaise with the other Team Leaders to ensure jobs flowing through the plant are meeting scheduled targets in order for jobs to meet deadlines.
* Identify materials or products which are required to fulfil jobs and or required stock and liaise with Warehouse and Procurement Departments for re-order.
* Administer and execute Company Safety Procedures as per our Workplace Code of Conduct, OHS and QA policies, drive a safety first and continuous improvement culture.
Prior experience in a similar role or industry would be advantageous- we are looking for a confident, self-driven and enthusiastic team member with the ability to apply their experience and or aptitude to learn. If you have prior experience in a Supervisory role which was not in manufacturing then your skill set may still be applicable, don't count yourself out.
